How do I get instructions on how to navigate the new system?

Instructions on how to use the new system are accessible by clicking HERE or by clicking the documentation button at the top of this screen

What's Happened?

On May 1, 2006 our new voicemail, called Callpilot system came online.

CallPilot is a Unified Messaging system with the flexibility to manage messaging via telephone (and soon via computer). Users can manage messages, including faxes, via one touch point. The old system will remain online until May 15th so that all users will have the opportunity to access any old voicemails. You can reference the phone number list below to determine how to access the new and old systems.

In the near future, Using "My CallPilot web access", messaging will be done via the web. Changes to the CallPilot mailbox, such as Remote Notification (out calling to phones or pages) and Distribution Lists can also be done easily through My CallPilot web access.

Why did we switch systems?

Our old system was over 10 years old and we could no longer purchase parts to repair it (even on the used/refurbished market).  Even now, the old system is in need of repair.

None of my old navigation keys work - why?

Because this system is NEW, the command sequences(navigation) necessary to operate this platform are vastly different from our old Octel system. In an effort to minimize user interruption, we implemented a migration feature called “OCTEL emulation” which allowed us to navigate the new system using the commands of the old system.  The limitation of this “migration feature” is that it only applies to voicemail navigation commands.  The emulation mode does NOT allow access to features like outcall notification, extended absence greetings, voice mail lists, etc. but ONLY to basic voice mail navigation (next message, forward, reverse, delete, save, etc.).  This was selected so as to minimize the impact the conversion had on end users.

I can't access all my features like I used to. How can I Gain Access to those features?

This is most likely because you're using one of the "emulation mode" phone numbers. The Octel emulation mode feature only performs a limited set of commands and does not address the full features that are/were present in the both the old and new systems. You can gain access to all your features by using the Native Call Pilot access numbers.

How do I access Native Call Pilot Mode

See the list of phone numbers at the bottom of this page

What's the difference in between OCTEL Emulation Mode and Native CallPILOT Mode?

If you dial 5700, 770-956-2798, 800-298-8802 or hit the “message” button on your telephone, you are automatically taken into the voicemail system into “EMULATION mode”.  This environment has similar commands to the old system but only has the basic message navigation functionality (3 to end, 1 to rewind, 7 to delete, 9 to save, etc). The advanced features (for example: Extended Absence Greeting, outcall notification, etc.), are not available in this mode.

If you dial 7111 (or 770-541-7111, 1-877-877-8763) then you are taken into the native Call Pilot environment and this is where you have access to all your features such as outcall notification, extended absence greetings, etc, including your basic message navigation but remember – all the navigation commands are different, but all your features are available.

What are all the phone numbers I need to know

Here’s a recap of the published phone numbers and what they do:

  • 1-877-877-8761 (used to reach the old Octel voicemail system only – (offline on 5/15/06) This number will expire on 5/15/06.
  • 1-800-298-8805 (express messaging – only for non subscribers to leave you a voicemail)
  • 1-800-298-8802 (Octel Emulation – allows you to retrieve and navigate through your voicemail messages)
  • 770-956-2799 (express messaging – only for non subscribers to leave you a voicemail)
  • 770-956-2798 (Octel Emulation – allows you to retrieve and navigate through your voicemail messages)
  • 1-877-877-8763 (CallPilot Voicemail – full features, different navigation)
  • Extension 7111 (from the GPCHQ’s campus only) (Call Pilot Voicemail – full features, different navigation)
  • 770-541-7111 (Call Pilot Voicemail – full features, different navigation)
  • Extension 7115 (express messaging – allows non subscribers to leave voicemails)
  • Extension 5700 (Octel Emulation – allows you to retrieve and navigate through your voicemail messages)

There's too many phone numbers - which ones do I use?

Use the same numbers you always have. The phone numbers to retrieve your voicemail numbers have not changed. All the numbers you normally used have migrated to the new system. Additionally, the command structures are the same (thanks to emulation mode). So if you always use the same numbers you've always used, then you will get your voicemails just like you always have

We appreciate your patience during this conversion and we look forward to providing you some of our new service offerings in the very near future.  Please know that we’re working hard to increase your satisfaction level with this new product.
